Published: 4/3/2018

Ken Kohlbrenner, P.E., ENV SP was named Young Engineer of the Year by the Westchester/Putnam Chapter of the New York State Society of Professional Engineers during the Chapter’s annual awards dinner in March 2018. The Chapter gives this award out every year to an outstanding young professional under the age of 35 who has contributed substantially to the engineering profession.

Kohlbrenner is a Project Manager for Woodard & Curran and works in the firm’s sanitary wastewater practice. He is currently leading sewer infrastructure design projects throughout New York State and is managing Woodard & Curran’s construction phase efforts on a $20M tertiary and wet weather treatment upgrade to the Upper Montgomery Joint Authority’s wastewater treatment plant in Pennsburg, PA.

“Ken is well known throughout the region for his expert technical achievements. Leading municipal design projects requires a complex balance of engineering requirements, community outreach, and construction phasing.  Ken balances each of these concerns with ease and continues to help clients develop cost-effective solutions to their sanitary needs,” says Steve Robbins, Project Manager at Woodard & Curran.

Ken is active in the regional engineering community and serves on NYWEA’s Asset Management Committee, and Woodard & Curran’s Sanitary Wastewater Operational Efficiency Committee.
