The Marketing Business Analyst will oversee a continuous research and data analysis program. This role will support the firm in making strategic decisions regarding markets, services, and geographies to target while also monitoring trends related to clients, competitors, and the overall industry.

Travel: up to 10%

Candidate Location: Portland, ME / Andover, MA / Sacramento, CA

Hybrid Schedule: To start 2 – 3 days a week, after ramp-up could be a more flexible schedule


What You Will Be Doing :

  • Actionable research and analysis that informs strategic investments
  • A clear understanding of the market potential and business growth opportunities
  • Market intelligence that gives Woodard & Curran a competitive advantage
  • Accurate picture of client perception, with appropriate follow-up
  • Drive marketing content and business development conversations through business intelligence
  • Identify new market forces, regulations, and changes in the industry ecosystem that may impact business strategies and services. Design reports, dashboards, and communications to provide regular analysis of external market research and internal data to various stakeholders
  • Conduct market sizing/opportunity studies to identify new growth markets and segments
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external research partners
  • Conduct client research, including Voice of the Customer and feedback surveys. Develop reporting models (scorecards, dashboards, and other metrics) to measure key current and potential client satisfaction performance indicators.
  • Analyze internal business performance metrics as compared to external market trends. Collaborate with third parties to gather and analyze data from primary brand, market, and service research studies and provide actionable recommendations to business units/the company.
  • Develop surveys and related analyses that can be packaged as marketing content.
  • Participate in industry benchmarking surveys.
  • Make recommendations on investment opportunities, marketing strategy, and service offerings based on research gathered.
  • Participate in strategic planning exercises, particularly regarding marketplace opportunities or threats.

  • What You Will Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field
  • 7-10 years of experience in market research and business analysis
  • Experience in effectively conveying complex information to senior-level staff
  • Experience within environmental consulting or engineering field preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Strong knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software

    This role has the option for hybrid work, and the anticipated pay range is flexible, depending on factors such as the employee’s primary work location, skills, experience, and education. The following examples illustrate how the pay range for the same role can vary based on different locations.

    Portland, ME: $83,000 – $93,000

    Andover, MA & Sacramento, CA: $95,000 – $105,000

    This position’s anticipated pay range is provided above; the final exempt salary or non-exempt hourly pay will depend on experience level and consider a percentage-based geographic differential based on where the final candidate will be working. Geographic differentials recognize and reflect the cost of labor differences between geographic markets.

    Salary Range: $83,000 - $105,000
